Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Version 1.0 Is Out
Full release on 2 September 2026: story, Bomb Path, shop 5, Hardcore, Endless gear.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault left Early Access on 2 September 2026. Version 1.0 is the live game on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2. It is on Game Pass. A demo exists. Steam Deck is Verified. The price is $29.99. This is not a preview. The story in Tresna has a conclusion, the last shop level is in, and the endgame Vault is a one-day gold exam. Read this page as a checklist of what 1.0 added on top of Early Access and Greed and Glory. Builds that use the new path sit on the Builds Tier List. Vault numbers sit on Vault unlocks.
Early Access began 19 November 2025. Ten months of Hex, Bloblets, Colosseum, and armoury teasers sit behind this patch. You do not need to buy those updates. They are in the 1.0 disc. Blob-Life (20 May 2026) is the pet, Poison Path, Boss Rush, and Vault VI chapter. 1.0 kept those systems and added a fifth shop-level Bloblet slot. Spark is the new endgame merchant; Jane still handles pets.
Story and town
1.0 finishes Will’s Tresna arc: new quests, cutscenes, and the last argument with the Vault and with Moloch’s mess. New and returning merchants show up, including Spark as an endgame vendor tied to Endless Void Armour’s Spark perks. The town you already upgraded stays. Shop level 5 is the last renovation: an extra Bloblet slot and another cosmetic placement. That is a companion slot and a decoration slot, not a new biome. Codex pages expand. Endless Vault cosmetics land for people who like their brass god dressed up.
If you only wanted “is the game out?” the answer is yes. If you wanted “does my EA town carry over?” also yes, unless you opt into Hardcore on a run that dies.
Bomb Path
The headline combat branch is Bomb Path. Mark an enemy. Hit it enough times. It explodes and damages neighbors. It is a perk path, not a fifth melee class. Fast weapons (gauntlets, short swords, busy spears) stack marks; large swords mark slowly. Combine it with Hex and Thunder if those shrines still appear. The builds page treats Bomb as an S-tier path bolted onto a real weapon identity. Do not drop Andrei’s Forge to “main bombs.”
Endless weapons and armor
1.0 ships the Endless set teased in EA Update #6:
- Endless Sword — special becomes a piercing multi-hit that grows with combo.
- Large Endless Sword — defensive stance, Sharpness, counter.
- Endless Spear — spend stored spearheads so basics become specials for a window.
- Endless Gauntlets — Berserk hits even harder; greed play.
- Endless Void Armour — crit chance, extra crit damage per Spark perk.
These sit beside Ultimates from Vault IV, they do not delete them. Unlock timing follows story and gold, same as every other named kit on the weapons list.
1.0 also adds the Machine Gun gadget. It sits next to Blob-Life’s Blo-Buddy: both are gadgets, not a fifth melee class and not a replacement for Babyl’s gun slot. Equip a gadget for the dungeon. Equip a Bloblet for the shop.
Hardcore and Infinite Vault
Hardcore is optional. Official 1.0 notes: a dungeon death means losing your progress and starting the journey again from the beginning. It is not Very Hard (a Blob-Life slider) and it is not extra story. Read the dedicated Hardcore page before you flip it on a file you like.
Endless Vault VII is the new gold spike: 300,000 in one shop day. Completing the 1.0 Vault line opens the Infinite / golden Vault, a repeating high-gold gauntlet for people who still want a quota after the credits. Lifetime gates I–V (10k / 50k / 120k / 200k / 500k) remain. Gold is not consumed to flip those switches. VII is an earnings test for a single morning, still not a fee.
Platforms, price, and what 1.0 is not
Consoles launched with 1.0. PC players who lived in EA got the same patch. Game Pass is a way to play, not a different build. The demo is a taste, not a second SKU. There is no multiplayer. There are no redeem codes.
The Deluxe Edition bundles the full game with the Zen Patio Pack plus a digital artbook and soundtrack. Zen Patio is cosmetic furniture, not a perk path. Standard digital 1.0 is still $29.99 without those extras.
Physical editions from Silver Lining Interactive are dated 13 November 2026 for Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC. Standard and Collector’s boxes (art cards, patches, poster, stickers, metal coin, and similar trinkets) are the same 1.0 game in cardboard, not extra dungeon paths.
Press scores for this 1.0 landed in a 7/10–8.5/10 band: Metacritic 77 on PC, 75 on PS5, 84 on Switch 2. Steam Very Positive. The review argues the backpack is the star and the shop is thinner than the dungeons. 1.0 did not reverse that; it added endgame and a finished plot on top of it.
What to do first in 1.0
- If you are new, Getting Started and Controls.
- If you have an EA save, walk Tresna for Spark, shop 5, and any missing NPC icons.
- Craft or try an Endless aspect only after you like the base class.
- Turn on Bomb Path when the shrine appears; do not reset a file to hunt it.
- Leave Hardcore off until you can smash Rupture without thinking.
- Bank relics toward Vault VII’s one-day 300k instead of panic-selling the night you unlock it.
1.0 did not add a fourth biome. Postgame is Infinite Vault and what press called New Game Plus, not another desert. No public hotfix had posted as of 3 September 2026. Steam’s launch promo was −30% to $20.99 through 16 September 2026. The rest of the wiki assumes this patch. Greed and Glory is history that is still in the build. The Updates Hub is the index.
