Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Moonlighter 2 Tier Lists
Weapons, relics, and builds ranked for the 1.0 shop and dungeon loop.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is not a gacha roster. Rankings here are about how fast a kit prints gold and how safely it clears Kalina, The Gallery, and Aeolia. Will is the only playable character. The 1.0 release on 2 September 2026 added Endless weapon aspects, the Bomb Path, Hardcore, and Infinite Vault, so older Early Access lists are incomplete.
This hub is the map. Jump to the Weapons Tier List for short swords, large swords, spears, gauntlets, and guns. Use the Relics Tier List when a backpack tile is worth more than a boss drop. Then pick a kit from the Builds Tier List instead of mixing random perks. Combat feel lives in the Combat guide; dungeon routing lives in the Dungeons guide.
How this wiki ranks kits
S-tier means the kit is strong on a fresh save and still strong after Vault IV. A-tier needs a recipe, a boss material, or a biome you may not have opened. B-tier clears content if you play it well. C-tier is the Old Broom: funny, trophy-friendly, and a tax on your health bar. We do not rank by rarity color alone. A Common Firewood that ignites a Legendary is often better than a lonely Epic with no neighbors.
Criteria, in order:
- Time-to-kill on elites and bosses without burning every potion.
- How early you can craft the kit (Sun Eaters versus Burning Hammer).
- How well it uses 1.0 Bomb marks, Hex curses, and Thunder chains.
- How little it fights the backpack. Slow weapons that leave you stranded on a full bag lose ranks.
Weapons snapshot
You start with the Old Broom (spear) and the Blob Gun. After the first Kalina run, Andrei sells Merchant versions of all four melee classes for four Sun Eaters each. That first choice matters because you will live with it for several runs. Short swords teach finishers and later convert kills into ammo. Large swords hit like a cart and become excellent once Aetherium Heart removes their sluggish reputation. Spears control space with spearheads. Gauntlets want Berserk uptime. Guns sit on a second slot: Blo-Beam is the clean S-tier beam, Blo-Blitz is the Greed and Glory dual-wield option, Blo-Blaster is short-range violence.
Ultimate melee weapons unlock when the Endless Vault hits 200,000 lifetime gold and Andrei receives the Burning Hammer. Endless aspects from 1.0 sit beside those Ultimates as late-game identities, not replacements for learning the base class. Full unlock notes live on the weapons page.
Relics snapshot
Relics are not equipment. They are shop inventory that mutates in the backpack. Kalina burns, The Gallery shocks, Aeolia petrifies. Quality is a multiplier (about 5% per point on the stamp price). Rarity is the color band that sets the stamp itself. Keep high rarity plus high quality. Feed Commons into Absorb and Burn chains. Do not sell Aetherium. The relics page explains what to keep versus what to use as fuel, then points at shop prices so the stamp is not a guess.
Builds snapshot
Six kits cover most of 1.0, matching the builds page (starter, gauntlets, spear, Poison Path, Bomb Path, Hex/Thunder):
- Short-sword starter — safest first Merchant craft, later Ultimate ammo windows.
- Gauntlet berserk — fastest melee, hungry for potions and Sun and Moon Ballad.
- Spear control — recall, orbit, and homing spearheads for crowded rooms.
- Bomb Path 1.0 — mark, hit quota, detonate; pairs with any fast weapon.
- Hex / Thunder — Greed and Glory curses that jump when Thunder is already on the board.
Pick one melee identity, one gun, and one perk path. Do not grab every shrine. Details and perk order sit on the builds page.
Using the lists with the rest of the wiki
Rankings assume single-player, $29.99 premium (no redeem codes), and the full 1.0 kit on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2. If you are still in the first hour, start with Getting Started and the Controls page, then come back here once Andrei has a Merchant weapon on the anvil. If gold is the bottleneck, the Vault unlocks table tells you which lifetime total actually matters.
Lists move when Digital Sun patches numbers. Greed and Glory (11 March 2026) already shifted guns and perk paths; 1.0 did it again. Treat S-tier as a recommendation, not a lockout. A B-tier spear in your hands still beats an S-tier gauntlet you refuse to roll with.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is there a character tier list?
No. Will is the only playable character. Rank weapons, relics, and builds instead of a roster.
Should I reroll my starter weapon?
No. After the first Kalina visit Andrei sells every Merchant class for four Sun Eaters. Play the one you like, then craft the others.
Do 1.0 Endless weapons replace Ultimates?
They add new specials on top of the same four classes. Unlock Ultimates at Vault IV, then try Endless aspects when the story and gold allow.
Are guns better than melee?
Guns are a second slot, not a replacement. Blo-Beam is the best ranged tool, but bosses still expect a melee kit plus backpack smash.
Where should I go after this hub?
Read the Weapons Tier List first, then Relics, then Builds. Pair them with Combat and Dungeons guides.
