System Requirements

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is a Unity 3D isometric sequel from Digital Sun and 11 bit studios. Version 1.0 released 2 September 2026 at $29.99 on Steam (Windows), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2. Steam listed a launch promo of −30% to $20.99 through 16 September 2026. A demo exists (Steam app 3670000). Steam Deck is Verified. Steam Cloud is on. The game is single-player. There are no redeem codes. This page copies the live Steam spec sheet, not an older preview table. How to play after install sits on Getting Started. Binds sit on Controls. Store SKUs sit on Editions. Official URLs sit on Links.

The first Moonlighter was a lighter 2D download. This sequel is Windows-only on PC — no Mac, no Linux. Ultrawide is supported. Read the table before you gift it to an 8 GB laptop.

PC minimum (Steam)

Official minimum:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 or Intel Core i5-10400F
  • RAM: 12 GB
  • GPU: Radeon RX 5500 XT or GeForce GTX 1650 or Intel Arc A750
  • API: DirectX 11
  • Storage: 6 GB available space
  • Notes: SSD recommended, HDD supported. Ultrawide supported.

That is not a Ryzen 5 1600 / GTX 1660 / 16 GB / DirectX 12 floor. Older wiki tables used those numbers; the Steam page at 1.0 launch is the one above. 12 GB of RAM is the printed minimum. 8 GB is below spec. DirectX 11 is the minimum API. Install size on disk is about 5.2 GiB (SteamDB); the sheet asks for 6 GB free.

If you sit exactly on minimum, start on Normal, not Very Hard, and leave fancy shop cosmetics for later. Performance in Tresna’s square is not the same as a packed Gallery laser phase. Finger Guns reported frame dips even after turning settings down; test the demo before you argue with a 1650.

Official recommended:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i5-12500
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • GPU: Radeon RX 5700 or GeForce RTX 3060 or Intel Arc A770
  • API: DirectX 12
  • Storage: 6 GB available space
  • Notes: SSD recommended. Ultrawide supported.

Recommended is where RAM steps to 16 GB and the API steps to DirectX 12. The named cards are a 5700 / 3060 / A770, not a 6700 XT / 3060 Ti. If you already own more RAM, keep it. Particle-heavy rooms (Gallery current, Aeolia orbs, Bomb Path detonations) still want the recommended GPU if you dislike frame dips during a smash window. Rebind smash, gun, and potion on Controls so a stutter does not eat the wrong button.

Steam Deck, Switch 2, and other platforms

Steam Deck Verified (Valve checklist, including a January 2026 listing) means defaults, glyphs, and a playable handheld layout. It does not mean every dungeon is locked 60 on every Deck OLED setting. Use the pad in rooms and the trackpads in the Codex and shop if that split feels right. Hold F to teleport in town still exists; remap it on Deck so you are not hunting a keyboard key.

Nintendo Switch 2 lists about 11 GB for the digital size. TV, tabletop, and handheld modes are supported. Player count is one. Physical editions from Silver Lining Interactive follow later (13 November 2026 for boxed Switch 2, PS5, and PC); they are the same 1.0 game in a box. See Editions for Deluxe (Zen Patio Pack $4.99, digital artbook $4.99, soundtrack $9.99) versus standard digital.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series launched with 1.0 on the same 2 September 2026 date. Game Pass carried the Xbox / PC launch as a way to play, not as a different build. Xbox also lists cloud play. There is no extra platform that adds a second merchant. Single-player on all of them. Steam Cloud path on Windows: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\11BitStudios\Moonlighter 2 The Endless Vault\.

Steam languages (interface and subtitles; English full audio): English, French, German, Portuguese-Brazil, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish-Spain, Polish, Japanese, Korean. This wiki covers English, French, German, and Spanish.

Demo, 1.0, and what hardware does not change

The demo is the honest test. It will not include the full 1.0 ending, shop level 5, or every Blob-Life pet, but it will tell you whether a 1650 or a Deck can stand a Kalina Day. Download it from Steam. Console storefronts may offer their own trials.

Hardware does not change the loop. You still run a dungeon, solve the backpack, stamp relics, and feed the Endless Vault. You still need 10,000 lifetime gold for Vault I. You still cannot redeem a code to skip a GPU. Very Hard (Blob-Life) and Hardcore (1.0) are difficulty options, not graphics presets. Lowering the slider will not fix a machine under 12 GB of RAM.

A practical buy order:

  1. Read this table — especially the 12 GB / DX11 minimum.
  2. Run the demo on the PC or Deck you actually own.
  3. If it feels good, buy 1.0 at $29.99, the launch Steam sale, or Game Pass.
  4. Open Getting Started and Controls.
  5. Come back to the Tools Hub for stamps, Vault gold, and achievements when the shop door works.

If you are already past the tutorial, this page is only a spec sheet. Launch checklist: Version 1.0.
