Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Blob-Life Balance Update
20 May 2026: Bloblets, shop 4, Poison Path, Boss Rush, and the sixth Vault key.
Blob-Life Balance is Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault’s second major Early Access content drop. It went live on 20 May 2026, after Greed and Glory on 11 March 2026. Version 1.0 (2 September 2026) kept the headline systems: Bloblets, Poison Path, Boss Rush, Very Hard, shop level 4, and the four weapon aspects. You do not buy this patch. If you play the finished $29.99 game on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, or Nintendo Switch 2, you already have it. There are no redeem codes and the game stays single-player. This page is the historical kit so May 2026 notes still make sense. How to rescue and equip the pets sits on Bloblets. How to run the new dungeon mode sits on Boss Rush.
Digital Sun billed the drop as a break between treasure runs and the till: Will finally gets companions, the shop grows again, and the dimensions get a faster fight track. Roadmap slides after Greed and Glory already promised pets, a poison path, and another Vault beat. Blob-Life is that slide made real.
Bloblets and Zane Jane
Bloblets are collectible shop companions. You meet them on dungeon runs, finish their tasks, and earn a new currency. Back in Tresna you spend that currency at the Pet Seller Zane Jane, also called Jane the Blobector. She stands left of the shop after a bridge. Talk to her before you treat every cute blob on the floor as progress.
A first town Bloblet can appear in the Moonlighter after you have been running and selling. Petting it is its own gag. That town pet does not count for the rescue achievement. The first dungeon rescue does. There are 30 Bloblets in total: 10 in Kalina, 10 in The Gallery, 10 in Aeolia. Rescue 20 for the collector achievement. Adopt the full set for the rescue-center achievement. Details and routing sit on the Bloblets guide. Town faces sit on NPCs.
After Jane unlocks the system, you equip a Bloblet before you open the shop. The pet grants temporary relic-value and tip bonuses until the doors close. It is a shift buff, not a permanent multiplier you forget to turn off. Shopkeeping is still faces, stamps, and showcases; the Bloblet is a layer on top. Shop level 4 arrived in this patch (more floor, more fun). Shop level 5 in version 1.0 adds another Bloblet slot. Equip before you open, the same way you pick Julien patches before a run.
Weapons, Blo-Buddy, and Poison Path
Blob-Life added four named melee aspects, one per class:
- Starsign Horn — short sword
- Protocol Breaker — large sword
- Dreampiercer — spear
- Single Strike — gauntlets
They sit beside Merchant starters, quest weapons, and later Ultimates. They do not replace learning a class on the Weapons Tier List. If a May 2026 clip calls one of them the only viable kit, check the date: 1.0 Endless aspects and Bomb Path landed later.
Blo-Buddy is the gadget from this patch: a flying helper that shoots while you melee. It is a gadget, not Babyl’s gun slot and not a fifth melee class. 1.0 later added a Machine Gun gadget on the same shelf. Pair gadgets with a real build.
Poison Path is a dungeon perk branch. Damage over time ramps each tick and the window is short. It wants you to keep applying poison instead of tagging one hit and wandering off. Fast weapons restack it; spears can splash it on a recall. It is not Hex (Greed and Glory) and it is not Bomb Path (1.0). One melee identity plus one path is a kit. Three paths with no class is a museum.
Very Hard, Boss Rush, and price hints
Very Hard is a difficulty step above Hard. It is not Hardcore. Hardcore is the optional 1.0 mode that punishes dungeon death. Very Hard is for people who already read telegraphs on Combat and still want the rooms to push back. You can change Easy, Normal, Hard, and Very Hard in the menu. Do not confuse a harder slider with a new biome.
Boss Rush is a new dungeon mode: one rush per dimension (Kalina, Prison / The Gallery, Aeolia) plus an Interdimensional mix. Rooms are perk stops and bosses only. There is no full relic route, no backpack-for-the-till homework, and no reason to treat it as your Vault I farm. It is fast and mean. The dedicated page is Boss Rush. Story bosses and biomes still live on Dungeons.
Shop UI gained relic price hints. When you set a tag and you already know the neighboring stamp ranges, an indicator shows whether the number sits in Cheap, Perfect, Expensive, or Overpriced. If those brackets are still unknown, you see ? and you go back to faces. The shop prices table is still the ledger. The hint is a training wheel for merchants who have already stamped the cousins.
Endless Vault VI and new vendors
Blob-Life added Endless Vault Challenge VI as the sixth narrative key. This wiki will not invent a gold number for it. The published lifetime table for challenges I–V remains 10,000 / 50,000 / 120,000 / 200,000 / 500,000. Version 1.0 later added VII at 300,000 gold in a single day. Gold is not spent to flip those switches. Plan I–V and VII with the vault unlocks table. Treat VI as the story beat this patch introduced; finish the Codex trial it names instead of guessing a wallet target.
New and upgraded vendors in the same drop:
- PetSeller — Zane Jane, rescue and adopt Bloblets
- K33P3R level 4 — more merchant-progression stock in the shop chest
- Rival level 4 — Julien’s patch counter grows again
- LandLady luxury cosmetics — Ms Scratch / Doña Guita sells expensive vanity once the new Vault challenge is in play
Those counters do not add a cash shop. They spend the gold you already earned. Town directory: NPCs.
The notes also shipped extra dungeon rooms, a new quest beat, a pile of cutscenes, and the usual relic and perk balance. If a Perfect Stamp in an old spreadsheet disagrees with the live till, this patch is one of the reasons, next to Greed and Glory.
How this patch sits next to 1.0
Blob-Life is not a leftover beta. It is the middle of the live game. 1.0 finished the plot, added Bomb Path, shop 5, Hardcore, Infinite Vault, Endless melee aspects, Endless Void Armour, Spark, and the Machine Gun gadget. It did not remove Bloblets, Poison Path, Boss Rush, or Very Hard. The fifth shop rank exists in part so a second Bloblet can sit on the floor.
If you boot Moonlighter 2 after 2 September 2026, you are playing Early Access plus Greed and Glory plus Blob-Life plus 1.0. Read this page for the 20 May kit. Read the Updates Hub for the order. Read 1.0 for the finish. Read Guides when you actually have to rescue a Bloblet or survive a rush.
