Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Moonlighter 2 Dungeons
Kalina, The Gallery, Aeolia, and the six story bosses.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault has three story dimensions, each with two maps. You pick a path on Tomo’s radar, fight an encounter, loot a chest, and reseat the backpack before the next door. This page is the map layer: hazards, relic rules, minibosses, and the six bosses. Combat is how you swing. The walkthrough is story order.
A typical map: a dozen-plus rooms, a miniboss around the halfway mark (two chests plus a rare craft material), a unique boss at the end (two chests plus a trophy). You do not have to finish. The pendant returns you to Tresna with no death penalty. Dying halves quality. Hardcore (1.0) restarts the save — not the mode for first clears.
How to read a run
Tomo sits by the Dimensional Gate. His radar is the dungeon HUD: encounter type, loot color, forks. Follow relic rooms when you need shop gold; follow material rooms when Andrei or Eris is gated. ? rooms hide vendors, including the bag expander and Nou’s first meeting. After you find Nou in a run, he sells in south Tresna — but only materials you have already seen.
Hold F on the town map to teleport between NPCs. That bind is not a dungeon blink. In a dimension you walk, roll, and smash. Controls lists both.
Leave early if the radar is grey junk and Vault I is still the goal. Three stamped commons beat a Herald wipe. Getting started covers the first Kalina Day loop.
Kalina — Day and Night
Kalina is the desert you are thrown into. Enemies swarm. Floor spikes punish standing still and can be used as weapons if you kite a pack across them. Large bluish-purple Spike Flowers fire homing spikes when hit and always drop a specific material: Sun Eater by day, Moon Flower by night. Smash them on purpose.
Relic rules: Burn and Armor. Unarmored burns destroy stock. Seat keepers, then burners. Details on the backpack page. Relic rankings: relics.
Herald waits at the end of Kalina Day. Trophy: Sound of Hubris. The fight is a shield exam. Cannons toss ruptured objects; backpack smash them into Herald to strip shield bars, then melee the body. Fire shockwaves want diagonal rolls, not panic heals.
Thalaam ends Kalina Night. Trophy: Alabaster Candle. A flyer: stampedes, slams, later shockwave fireballs, and a late phase where you smash purple balls into a shield. Bring a gun. Night is not a palette swap — treat it as the second dungeon even though the sand looks familiar.
Kalina minibosses drop Broken Mics and unlock the first armor line at Andrei. Merchant weapons (four Sun Eaters after the first shop plus Kalina) are Day-flower crafts. Weapons if you are still on the Old Broom.
The Gallery — Exhibition Wing and Treasury Halls
Vault I (10,000 cumulative gold) opens The Gallery. It is a museum with security robots, tasers that freeze a target when struck, and electrified floor that is instant pain. Relic rules: Shock, Overcharge, batteries. A second shock on an Overcharged relic destroys it. Carry a Battery if you like epic survivors.
Curator ends the Exhibition Wing. Trophy: Quantum Core. Floor current turns the arena into a jumping puzzle. Attack in the short window after the light telegraph, then smash the lower part when it turns purple. Later phases throw ruptured objects you must smash into the shield, plus full-arena lasers.
Tyke ends the Treasury Halls. Trophy: Broken Rocket. A chaotic mid-game fight; smash windows still matter. Treasury is also where some side stories (Masa, hidden rooms) live — the walkthrough flags the ones that drop unique recipes.
Gallery minibosses drop Ancient Translators (Exhibition) and Echo Links (Treasury enemies). Babyl’s Blo-Beam is gated on a Gallery run. Talk to Babyl after Curator for The Rectifier spear recipe, which still wants Tyke’s rocket.
Aeolia — Zephyr Fields and Harrowing Heights
Vault II (50,000) opens Aeolia: floating islands, ziplines, energy orbs, occasional golden pods that spawn a short-lived genie if you shoot them. Relic rules: Petrify into Aetherium, plus doll transformations. Aetherium left in the bag at run end is destroyed. Absorb crystals into a keeper or do not petrify.
Senda ends Zephyr Fields. Trophy: King’s Left Mask. Wind, fans, and a purple fan you must smash back. Gun for the spin phases that deny melee. Aetherium Heart (large sword) wants this mask.
Monte ends Harrowing Heights. Trophy: King’s Right Mask. Warrior on a stingray. Shield phases force you across three platforms, smashing ruptured projectiles while tiles get lightning. Later chains and flyers. Ray Axe wants this mask after Julien’s quest.
Aeolia enemies drop Oneiric Quartz (Zephyr) and Oneiric Stone (Harrowing). Minibosses drop Oneiric Cores. Blo-Blaster is an Aeolia hidden treasure, not a shop listing — search the extra rooms; walkthrough marks the quest.
Boss drops at a glance
- Herald — Kalina Day — Sound of Hubris
- Thalaam — Kalina Night — Alabaster Candle
- Curator — Gallery Exhibition — Quantum Core
- Tyke — Gallery Treasury — Broken Rocket
- Senda — Aeolia Zephyr — King’s Left Mask
- Monte — Aeolia Harrowing — King’s Right Mask
Smash on purple. If a boss is glowing and your melee ticks for nothing, look for an orb.
Greed Colosseum (Vault V, 500,000 gold, Greed & Glory) is a post-boss arena, not a fourth dimension. Infinite Endless Vault repeats after Vault VII’s single-day 300,000 gold challenge — see Endless Vault and vault unlocks.
Nou prices once unlocked: Sun Eater 2500, Echo Link 2500, Oneiric Quartz 2500, Moon Flower 5000, Echo Bond 5000, Oneiric Stone 5000. Buy gaps; still smash flowers because trophy crafts cannot be purchased. Town faces: NPCs. Loadouts: builds. Index: Guides Hub. Patch notes: version 1.0. Official links: wiki and links.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many dungeons are in Moonlighter 2?
Three story dimensions with two maps each: Kalina Day/Night, The Gallery Exhibition Wing/Treasury Halls, and Aeolia Zephyr Fields/Harrowing Heights. Greed Colosseum is a separate post-boss arena from Vault V.
What do Spike Flowers drop?
Sun Eaters in Kalina Day and Moon Flowers in Kalina Night. Hit them on purpose; Merchant weapons cost four Sun Eaters and Nou only undersells after you have found the material once.
Which boss drops which trophy?
Herald: Sound of Hubris. Thalaam: Alabaster Candle. Curator: Quantum Core. Tyke: Broken Rocket. Senda: King's Left Mask. Monte: King's Right Mask.
Do I have to fight the boss every run?
No. Use the pendant to leave after the rooms you need. Vault gold comes from shop sales, not from a boss kill. Farm minibosses when you only need armor unlocks or a material.
When do The Gallery and Aeolia unlock?
The Gallery at Vault I (10,000 cumulative gold). Aeolia at Vault II (50,000), along with the Onyx Cauldron, first shop upgrade, and Weird Prisoner.
