Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault How to Make Gold in Moonlighter 2
Stamps, quality, calendar days, and a plan for every Vault gate.
Gold is the spine of Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault. The cube in Tresna tracks lifetime sales, not a fee you pay at the counter. Version 1.0 launched 2 September 2026. This page is the money route: how to stamp, when to sell, and how to hit the published Vault numbers without dumping a Legendary into a 10,000-gold gate. Pair it with the shop price table, the Vault unlock tracker, and shopkeeping. Combat that keeps the bag alive sits in combat.
The game is a $29.99 single-player premium title (Steam ran a launch week −30% to $20.99 through 16 September 2026). There are no redeem codes. You cannot buy a Vault key. You earn it.
What actually counts
The Endless Vault meters gold earned from shop sales across the save. Spending on Andrei, Eris, Ms Scratch, or the Countess does not rewind the meter. Dying in a dungeon does not erase Vault progress; it halves relic quality in the bag you were carrying, which wrecks tomorrow’s till. Cheap sales still count. They simply print less.
Published gates:
- I — 10,000 lifetime — Tomo’s Grimoire and The Gallery.
- II — 50,000 lifetime — Aeolia, first shop expansion, Julien’s portal, Hex path.
- III — 120,000 lifetime — Luminous Pendant, legendary hunting, Weapon Mastery.
- IV — 200,000 lifetime — Burning Hammer and Ultimate melee recipes.
- V — 500,000 lifetime — Greed Colosseum and the fifth narrative key.
- VI — Blob-Life story key. Digital Sun did not publish a lifetime gold number.
- VII — 300,000 in one shop day — not 300,000 more lifetime. Then the Infinite Vault / postgame loop.
The cube stops counting a challenge the moment you hit the number. If you are 2,000 short of Vault I, do not slam a 2,000-stamp Legendary and a full Uncommon shelf in the same morning. Bank the extra for II.
Stamp first, then multiply
Type the base Perfect Stamp. Quality adds about 5% per point on top. Faces judge the base, not the multiplied total. If you raise a Silence Shell from 21 to 200 because it has stars, customers walk. Representative stamps live on shop prices: Silence Shell 21, Sand Fruit 31, Firewood 42, Broken Battery 26, Battery 52, Blob Shell 336.
Greed Alert (1.0) warns you when a tag is egregiously high. Treat it as a brake, not a suggestion to ignore. Cheap and Perfect fill the Perkmeter. Expensive pays more on that one relic and does not fill the meter. Overpriced is a missed sale.
Aromas from cheap sales can buff a showcase until close — dump Commons into the aroma machine while a Rare sits on a premium stand. Some days two customers haggle over the same piece; let them fight if the stamp is already Perfect.
Calendar, quality, and the bag
The Codex six-day calendar hearts a rarity or a biome. A hearted Uncommon at Perfect often beats an unhearted Rare that nobody came to buy. Plan dungeon routes around tomorrow’s heart when you can.
Quality is made in the backpack, not at the till. Kalina burns or armors neighbors. The Gallery shocks, overcharges, and needs batteries. Aeolia petrifies loot into Aetherium you must absorb or lose — leftover crystals vanish when you return to Tresna. Crafting materials no longer occupy backpack tiles, so Sun Eaters and Echo Links do not crowd the relics you actually sell. That is free gold compared with the 2018 original.
Keep high rarity plus high quality. Feed Commons into Burn and Absorb chains. Do not sell Aetherium. Rankings: relics.
A practical gold schedule
Until Vault I (10k). Finish the tutorial, complete one shop day, then run Kalina Day. Stamp every Common you can seat. Pendant out of cursed radars. Volume of Perfect sales beats two greedy tags. Read getting started if you are still on the Old Broom.
Until Vault II (50k). Open The Gallery after I. Exhibition shock stock stamps higher than desert Commons. Buy the first backpack slots. Check the calendar. Do not sit on a full chest of Uncommons through a Common day.
Until Vault IV (200k). This is the gear appointment. You want the Burning Hammer. Mix Gallery legend-quality with Aeolia after II. Shop expansions from Doña Guita add showcases; four shelves cannot print 200k at a sane pace. Walkthrough slots shop days between bosses.
Until Vault V (500k). You should already have Blo-Beam, a named melee, and a bag Sliver has stretched. Greed Colosseum is a combat check, not your first farm — fail it and relic quality halves.
Vault VII (300k in one day). Dedicated morning. Full bag of high-rarity, high-quality relics. Shop rank 5 and Bloblets on the floor. Calendar heart matching the biome you ran. Perfect Stamps only until the Perkmeter is full, then test Expensive on the last legendaries. No Overpriced dead air. Shop rank, furniture, and Bloblets are the multipliers; the bag is the raw ore.
What not to spend gold on yet
Wallpaper before stands. Deluxe patio DLC before backpack slots. Hardcore on a file you still need for VII. Impulse cosmetics the night before a Vault turn-in. You still need potions, hammer crafts, and grid squares. Editions explains Zen Patio, the artbook, and the soundtrack — none of those print Vault gold.
If a run dies, the lost quality is the real tax. Leave early. The Guides Hub is the map. Version 1.0 is the live patch this schedule assumes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Does the Endless Vault take my gold?
No. Challenges I–V track lifetime earnings and do not empty your purse. VII is 300,000 gold in a single shop day, still not a fee.
What is the fastest way to make gold early?
Stamp Perfect on every Common you can seat, watch the Codex calendar, and pendant out of bad Kalina maps. Volume of smiles beats two greedy tags.
Should I wait for a Legendary before opening Vault I?
No. The cube stops counting when you hit 10,000. Bank extra stock for Vault II instead of dumping a Legendary into the first key.
How do I hit 300,000 gold in one day?
Shop rank 5, a full high-quality bag, a matching calendar heart, Perfect Stamps until the perk meter is full, then Expensive only on leftover legendaries.
Do materials clog the backpack and kill profit?
No. Crafting materials no longer take backpack tiles. Relic curses still can. Seat burns, shocks, and Aetherium on purpose.
