Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Moonlighter 2 Hidden Treasures
Eris's riddles solved: eight secret quests across Kalina, Gallery, and Aeolia.
Hidden Treasure quests are Moonlighter 2’s secret side jobs. Eris mentions she has had a vision, but her clues are riddles. Most point to a specific room on a specific map where a portal hides behind a breakable or a fork most players walk past. Finishing each one drops a crafting recipe or a weapon. This page is the riddle-to-reward map. Biome mechanics sit in Dungeons. Shop pricing sits in Shop Prices. Weapons if the recipe is a blade you want to forge.
The game is single-player. There are no codes that skip a riddle. Every treasure below is earned by being in the right room with the right item.
How the quests work
Eris gives you a hidden treasure quest after you unlock a new dungeon area (Vault I for Gallery, Vault II for Aeolia). The clue is a short riddle. The solution is always: find the specific room on the specific map, then look for a portal most players miss. Opening the portal leads to a trap-filled shortcut that ends in a chest.
The eight quests, their riddles, their locations, and their rewards:
| Area | Quest name | Riddle (Eris) | Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kalina Day | Day Realm’s Hidden Treasure | ”In the desert, where a hammer can be heard” | The Vow (large sword) |
| Kalina Night | Night Realm’s Hidden Treasure | Night equivalent of the above | (see Kalina Night section) |
| Gallery Exhibition | Exhibition Wing’s Hidden Treasure | ”A detour hides before the challenge in the path” | Heartbeat Hunter (gauntlets) |
| Gallery Treasury | Thief Trophy | Interact with Masa’s glass case | Masa freed, Combat Rod (spear) |
| Gallery Treasury | Treasury Halls’ Hidden Treasure | Must be the event with Sliver (Greed Guy) | (see Treasury Halls section) |
| Aeolia Zephyr | Zephyr Fields’ Hidden Treasure | ”Where welcomes are given, fate lays a string” | Blo-Blaster (gun) |
| Aeolia | Howling Harbor’s Hidden Treasure | Must be the room with Anacard (Challenge Guy) | (see Aeolia section) |
| Tresna | Fleeing Little Rascal | South of Tresna where the intro starts | (see Tresna section) |
Kalina Day — Day Realm’s Hidden Treasure
Riddle: “In the desert, where a hammer can be heard, a blade carved in stone waits to be discovered.”
Solution: After beating the Kalina Day miniboss, you reach the blacksmith area (where you talk to Andrei for Merchant weapon crafts). Instead of going forward to the anvil, go right. A path behind a rock leads to a hidden portal. The portal room is trap-filled. Clear it to receive the crafting recipe for The Vow, a large sword with Sharpness drain instead of spend.
The Vow is a B-tier large sword on the weapons list. Useful if you want the large-sword feel without committing to a high-end recipe. Not essential, but it drops early enough that it is worth opening the portal on your first or second Kalina Day run.
Kalina Night — Night Realm’s Hidden Treasure
Riddle: Eris gives a Night-specific variant after you have visited Kalina Night.
Solution: The structure mirrors the Day Realm treasure. Find the correct room (a specific encounter on the Night map), then look for the portal behind a breakable or a side passage. The reward differs from the Day version; check Eris’s dialogue for the exact name. The Night Realm riddle and portal are distinct from the Day run — do not assume the same room layout holds both.
Night Kalina drops Moon Flowers instead of Sun Eaters from Spike Flowers. The hidden treasure here is additional loot depth, not a duplicate of the Day reward. If you are farming Kalina Night for Monte’s King’s Right Mask, open this portal on the way.
The Gallery Exhibition Wing — Exhibition Wing’s Hidden Treasure
Riddle: “A detour hides before the challenge in the path, the ones who take it will have in their hands the power of life and death.”
Solution: After defeating the Exhibition Wing miniboss, go left before heading to the next area. Down the stairs is a hidden portal. The trap-filled room inside ends with a chest containing the crafting recipe for Heartbeat Hunter, a pair of gauntlets.
Heartbeat Hunter is a B-tier gauntlet on the weapons list. Its special trait: double damage taken during Berserk. That makes it a glass-cannon build — spectacular on a player who can dodge, dangerous on everyone else. Keep it in mind if you have already unlocked Sun and Moon Ballad and want a second gauntlet kit.
Babyl offers Blo-Beam after any Gallery run (win, die, or leave). Combine a Gallery clear for Blo-Beam with opening the Exhibition Wing hidden treasure portal in the same run if the map allows.
The Gallery Treasury Halls — Thief Trophy (Masa)
Riddle: No riddle — interact with the glass case in the Treasury Halls.
Solution: Inside the Gallery’s Treasury Halls, behind the fight with the miniboss, a glass case contains Masa, the pocket-sized burglar from the first Moonlighter. The sign warns you not to hit the case with Aetherium. The joke is that you must hit it with Aetherium Heart.
Steps:
- Craft Aetherium Heart — large sword recipe from Julien after you have visited Aeolia and have Senda’s King’s Left Mask.
- Equip Aetherium Heart.
- Return to the Treasury Halls and smash Masa’s glass case.
- Masa is freed. Achievement: Pocket-sized Burglar.
- Reward: Combat Rod spear recipe, plus Masa appearing in Tresna afterward.
Combat Rod is a B-tier spear on the weapons list. It orbits heads defensively — useful if you already main spears and want an orbit variant. The spear is the reward; Masa himself is the achievement.
Do not confuse this with the separate Treasury Halls’ Hidden Treasure quest (see below).
The Gallery Treasury Halls — Treasury Halls’ Hidden Treasure
Riddle: Must be the event with Sliver, the Greed Guy.
Solution: The hidden treasure portal in the Treasury Halls only appears during a Sliver event room. Sliver is the Greed Guy who appears in specific ? rooms. When you get a Sliver encounter in Treasury Halls, search the room carefully for the portal before leaving. The chest inside contains a reward distinct from the Thief Trophy above.
If you cannot find the treasure, confirm you are actually in a Sliver event room first. Other Treasury Halls rooms will not give the same result.
Aeolia Zephyr Fields — Zephyr Fields’ Hidden Treasure
Riddle: “Where welcomes are given, fate lays a string, follow it and you will find a new explosive power.”
Solution: At the very start of Zephyr Fields (the first map of Aeolia), look north-west. A zipline leads to a separate platform. Take it, then follow the path to a portal. The chest inside gives the crafting recipe for Blo-Blaster, a shotgun-style gun.
Blo-Blaster is an A-tier gun on the weapons list. Huge close-range damage, weak at range. It is the gun you want for tight Aeolia corridors and for Monte’s platform phases. Recipe costs 2,000 gold and four Oneiric Stones.
The Blo-Blaster is separate from the Blo-Beam (Exhibition Wing Gallery run) and Blo-Blitz (Greed and Glory). Between all three, Blo-Beam remains the best all-around gun. Blo-Blaster earns its slot on Aeolia-specific runs.
Aeolia — Howling Harbor’s Hidden Treasure
Riddle: Must be the room with Anacard, the Challenge Guy.
Solution: The Howling Harbor hidden treasure portal only opens inside an Anacard challenge room in Aeolia. Anacard is the Challenge Guy who appears in specific ? rooms, analogous to how Sliver appears in Gallery Treasury Halls. When you find an Anacard room in Howling Harbor, check the layout for the hidden portal.
If you are searching Howling Harbor and cannot find the treasure, confirm you are in the Anacard event room first. Other Howling Harbor rooms will not trigger the portal.
Tresna — Fleeing Little Rascal
Riddle: No riddle — a visible NPC in south Tresna.
Solution: After reaching Tresna, head to the southern part of the town (the area you arrive during the game intro). A small character or event marks the Fleeing Little Rascal hidden treasure. Interact to complete the quest.
This is the easiest hidden treasure to find because it is in town, not in a dungeon. Check south Tresna early if you want a quick completion.
